The Eventi Hotel's Bar Basque was brimming with wall-to-wall

The Eventi Hotel's Bar Basque was brimming with wall-to-wall chicsters last night to celebrate fash shutterbug Michael Thompson and the launch of his coffee-table hardcover, Portraits. GQ hosted the fete, along with Damiani Editore and Jed Root, catering to a top-notch troupe including Glenn O' Brien, Italo Zucchelli, Marcus Wainwright and David Neville of Rag & Bone, Gucci Westman, Leelee Sobieski and Adam Kimmel, GQ EIC Jim Nelson, and GQ creative director Jim Moore. Chic mingled among the crowd and wondered: How'd you dress for your school portraits?

Jim Nelson: A lot of hair! When I look back at my school portraits, all I see are huge bangs, parted down the middle, wings, and long locks.

Leelee Sobieski: I had a French lycée uniform. I wore a blue blazer, white shirt, a grey skirt that was too short, and knee-highs that I would make too sexy. I would always get in trouble for wearing red lipstick.

Jim Moore: I was really into bell bottoms in the 70s. I wanted a pair of flared jeans. I saved up some money and my neighbor's mom ordered them for me through the Sears catalogue.

Michael Thompson: Oh god. Back in the 70s I'd wear a silk shirt, unbuttoned down-to-there, with no chest hair.
